Mr. Weinberg is responsible for the firm’s operations and is actively involved in working with the management of portfolio companies, frequently acting as the liaison between the Board and management. He works closely with management to pursue new business opportunities and to set strategic direction and financial goals. Mr. Weinberg formerly co-founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hawk Corporation (AMEX: HWK), a manufacturer of specialized brake materials used in the aerospace, industrial and specialty consumer markets. During his ownership of Hawk, the company grew from one plant with $19 million in sales to 16 facilities worldwide with revenues exceeding $250 million.
Mr. Weinberg has also served as Chairman of New West Eyeworks, a 160 store chain of retail optical stores serving the Western United States. The company was built, taken public and sold at a substantial gain to the original shareholders. He also served as Chairman and CEO of SunMedia Corp., a publisher of 46 suburban weekly newspapers. Mr. Weinberg, a well known leader in the Cleveland business and civic community, serves on the Board of Trustees of Cleveland State University, an Ohio university with 17,000 students, and is a Director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He began his career at a major Wall Street investment banking firm.
Mr. Weinberg grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and received a B.A. in Science from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Prior to joining WCG, Mr. Weinberg was President of New Channel Direct, a full service mailing and marketing company based in Brunswick, Ohio. Mr. Weinberg has also served as Managing Director of Global Acquisitions and Business Development for Hawk Corporation (AMEX: HWK), a manufacturer of specialized components used in the aerospace, industrial and specialty consumer markets. At Hawk, Mr. Weinberg was responsible for the successful completion of six acquisitions, substantially adding to the company’s sales and profitability Mr. Weinberg was also responsible for building Hawk’s first manufacturing facility in China. Prior to joining Hawk, Mr. Weinberg was an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Ohio under the term of Attorney General Lee Fisher.
Mr. Weinberg graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Philosophy and received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University School of Law. At Southern Methodist University, Mr. Weinberg served as the Associate Senior Editor of the International Law Journal.
Mr. Herman is responsible for acquisition sourcing, processing and financing, due diligence, investor relations, and portfolio company management. Additionally, Mr. Herman manages the Weinberg Capital Group real estate investments.
In addition to his partnership with WCG, Mr. Herman is currently Managing Partner of Promotional Capital Partners LLC (“PCP”), a private investment group. PCP invests or co-invests in businesses in a variety of industries. PCP also manages a finance company engaged in factoring and purchase order funding. PCP and Mr. Herman have a long association with WCG and Mr. Herman is an investor in several WCG portfolio companies.
A serial entrepreneur since childhood and active investor, Mr. Herman’s direct investments have included businesses engaged in the following industries: promotional products, direct marketing, e-commerce, publishing, distribution, manufacturing, and real estate. Prior to forming PCP, Mr. Herman was President/CEO of Incentive Merchandising Corp. (“IMC”). During his tenure, IMC was ranked in the top 1% of promotional products businesses nationwide. The company was ultimately acquired by the industry leader, HALO Branded Solutions (formerly, NYSE: HMK).
Mr. Herman has a long history of civic involvement in the Cleveland community, including leadership positions with The Jewish Community Federation, Case Western Reserve University, University School, and currently as a Trustee of The Golden Age Centers and Jewish Family Service Association. Mr. Herman received a B.S. in Communication from the University of Miami.
Mr. Miele is responsible for acquisition processing and financing, due diligence, investor communications and portfolio company management.
Prior to joining WCG, Mr. Miele served as a Director & Principal of Cleveland, Ohio-based middle market investment bank Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (“BGL”). At BGL, Mr. Miele focused on merger and acquisitions, capital raises and financial restructurings for companies with enterprise values under $1 billion. In addition, Mr. Miele served as Co-head of BGL’s Chemicals Industry Practice and as Chairman of the firm’s Recruiting Committee and Commitment Committee. Prior to joining BGL, Mr. Miele served as an Associate with KeyBanc Capital Markets’ Energy Investment Banking Group. Over the course of a 12-year investment banking career, Mr. Miele participated in more than 50 merger and acquisition and capital raising transactions with a total value of approximately $7 billion.
Mr. Miele is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics. While at the University of Virginia he was a four-year letterman for the Men’s Varsity Track & Field Team.
